Scoot Marie

She is rootin’, she is tootin, and by god she is scootin’. Scoot Marie was first introduced into Camp Shady Birch lore on May 1, 2024 in episode 85 “Flash Your High Beams at me Baby!” Counselor Zachariah recalled the time when he and Counselor Jonathan were on their way to visit Caroline Manzo when they spotted a dog. Counselor Zachariah asked what Jonathan would name that dog. In a quick panic, Jonathan responded with the name “Scoot Marie”.

Scoot Marie is the camp dog. You may have seen her scooting around camp. She has an itchy butt and a hunger for a tennis ball fuzz. According to camp lore, she was rescued by The Counselors, and disappeared one day while at Camp Shady Birch. It was an emotional day, but when she returned she would not stop scooting. Sammich had to bottle feed her goat’s milk for weeks even though it was not necessary. She was treated for worms, but still continued to scoot around as her preferred mode of transportation. Her breed remains unknown. Perhaps a terrier of some sort? No matter her breed, she loves the campers and the campers love her.
